In 2005, more than two decades ago, I completed my first course in scalp acupuncture, then referred to as Chinese and Japanese scalp acupuncture. With the aim of deepening my knowledge of Japanese scalp acupuncture, I subsequently undertook various training programs in different European countries. However, it was in 2017 when I had the opportunity to work clinically alongside Dr. Toshikatsu Yamamoto at his rehabilitation center in Miyazaki and at his hospital in Nichinan, Japan. This experience marked a turning point in my professional life and in my relationship with YNSA.
With regard to Chinese scalp acupuncture, I continued my training in Europe, China, and Vietnam, and later during the years I worked in the acupuncture department of Hospital San José and in other medical centers in Madrid, together with Dr. Martín González.
More recently, I have continued to deepen my knowledge in this field with other international experts, as part of an ongoing process of learning and professional development.
After having taught more than one hundred and fifty editions of my YNSA Yamamoto Scalp Acupuncture course in 20 countries, I introduced Neurofunctional Scalp Acupuncture (NFSA), a course that addresses two systems of Chinese scalp acupuncture: Jiao Sunfa scalp acupuncture and Zhu scalp acupuncture.
Contrary to what many people believe, Jiao Sunfa scalp acupuncture and Zhu scalp acupuncture are not exclusive to the treatment of neurological disorders. They can be applied with equal effectiveness in conditions related to internal medicine, endocrine disorders, emotional disturbances, gynecological conditions, and, of course, in the treatment of pain. In addition, they are fully compatible with YNSA.
In this, my third scalp acupuncture course, I present several new elements. Among them is an anatomical model specifically designed for this course, which I can manipulate while projecting it. This model features a high level of anatomical detail and facilitates understanding and accurate localization of the different areas and points.
With this course, I continue to develop a training pathway focused on the integration of different scalp acupuncture systems, within a process that remains open and continually evolving. It is a specialty that deeply fascinates me and that has allowed me to help my patients in a meaningful way. As part of the course, participants receive my third acupuncture book, entitled Neurofunctional Scalp Acupuncture (NFSA), a 300-page manual containing nearly 200 color illustrations and photographs, published in Spanish and English.
This manual also includes content dedicated to neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and other aspects of the neurosciences.
All those who have already completed my YNSA Yamamoto Scalp Acupuncture course are invited to expand their therapeutic possibilities in scalp acupuncture with this NFSA course. Naturally, those who have not previously attended any of my courses are also more than welcome.
The YNSA course, the advanced YNSA course, and the NFSA course each offer different content, yet they are highly compatible and complementary, creating a synergy that undoubtedly translates into improved clinical outcomes for patients.
The objective of this third scalp acupuncture course, which I have already taught in numerous countries across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, is the same as in the previous two: that participants are able to apply the knowledge from the very next day after completing the course, and that it represents a real added value in their clinical practice by incorporating new “tools” that allow them to achieve more effective results with their patients.
