Acutaping Course

“The Intelligent Taping”

This is a highly practical course, taught in small groups, which allows for optimal use of time and enables participants to apply the technique from the very next day after completing the course.

Throughout the training, special emphasis is placed on ensuring that participants understand how acutaping works, rather than simply learning mechanical applications. This approach allows each student to develop their own way of applying the technique, while acquiring the necessary tools to continue learning and growing in the use of acutaping.

We will use many meters of tape. This is a very hands-on workshop, in which participants will leave not only with knowledge, but also with the practical skill to apply this valuable technique, being able to develop their own therapeutic strategies.

Course Content

In this predominantly practical course, different acutaping techniques will be addressed:

  • Muscular technique
  • Fascial technique
  • Space correction technique
  • Ligament and tendon technique
  • Lymphatic technique
  • Neuro-reflex technique
  • MTrPs (myofascial trigger points)
  • TCM (application of taping on acupuncture points and meridians)

1 Acutaping is not limited to musculoskeletal applications, although this is its most widely known use. Its popularity increased significantly due to its use by hundreds of athletes during the London and Beijing Olympic Games, and it is currently used by elite football players, tennis players, and other high-level athletes, with the resulting media exposure.

2 Acutaping is a very useful tool for pain reduction, ligament and tendon stabilization, scar management, lymphatic and blood drainage, as well as for conditions such as diarrhea, constipation, and menstrual discomfort. It is also applied in the treatment of the myofascial system, supported by the concepts of biotensegrity and myofascial chains, allowing for a global and interconnected view of the body in treatment, among many other applications.

Course Approach

Acutaping is a therapeutic technique that combines the classical principles of neuromuscular taping with more current and integrative approaches. Throughout the course, conventional taping resources are addressed, and in the final part of the training, applications on acupuncture points and meridians, as well as trigger points, are explored.

It is important to note that neuromuscular taping from this perspective represents a complementary and limited part of the course, integrated within a broader training program.
